In addition to this our Center offers 3D-4D ultrasounds, X-rays, full-field digital mammography with computer aided detection – the first of its kind in eastern Canada and a technology proven to be significantly more effective at detecting breast cancer while emiting 25% less radiation than traditional film mammography - bone densitometry as well as several interventional procedures such as stereotactic, ultrasound or MRI guided breast biopsies as well as image guided thyroid biopsies.The VM Medical Radiology Center is accredited by the Canadian Association of Radiologists in mammography and is the only center in Canada accredited in MRI by the American College of Radiologists.X-rays, mammograms and bone density are covered by the RAMQ.
